ONYEBUCHI, Sunday Chidi: Born October 22, 1960. Education: Community Primary School, Isiogbo-Nara, Nkanu East Local Government Area (1970-73), Boys High School, Awkunanaw, Enugu (1974-79), University of Nigeria, Nsukka (1983-87, 1993-94 and 1995-97). Qualifications include Bachelor of Arts in Religion (1987), Postgraduate Diploma in Management (1994), and MBA in Management (1997). Also attended courses at the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON), Topo, Badagry, Lagos (1992), Nigeria Institute of Management (1992), and the Entrepreneurial Management in Health Sector Reforms course at the Harvard School of Public Health, United States (2004).

A career civil servant, Onyebuchi rose through the ranks from 1980, rising to the post of Permanent Secretary in the State Civil Service in 2006. Previously Social Mobilization and Social Justice Officer, Directorate of Social Mobilization (MAMSER), Deputy Director of

Administration in the Enugu State Civil Service, Principal Secretary to the Governor of Enugu State, and most recently, Enugu State Commissioner for Works and Transport before his nomination as running mate to the Enugu State PDP governorship standard bearer, Barrister Sullivan Chime. Recipient of the Enugu State Civil Service Merit Award for Distinguished Service, 2001, Onyebuchi also served as a member, Panel of Inquiry into the crisis in Amodu community (1991), Enugu State Civil Service Reorganization Committee (2000), and the National Urban Water Sector Reform Project Committee, Enugu State (2006-07). Serene, self-effacing, highly organized and thorough, Onyebuchi is happily married with children.
